Sinner, Alcaraz continued their Wimbledon run

Men's tennis world. No 1 Jannik Sinner and world No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz continue their run as both got through the 4th round on Sunday.

Italy’s Sinner eliminated US player Ben Shelton with 6-2, 6-4, 7-6(9) sets.

"That was a very tough match, especially the third set," said Sinner. "These matches can go very long, so I’m very happy to close it out in three sets in such an amazing atmosphere."

In another 4th round clash, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz beat France’s Ugo Humbert 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5.

"Unbelievable I guess," he said. "I felt great playing today. I felt I played to a really high level. I just try to fight every ball, every point. It doesn’t matter which part of the court I am (in). Just to give myself the chance to still be alive in the point. I fight until the last point – just to fight."

Sinner will play against Russian world No. 5 Daniil Medvedev, while Alcaraz will face world No. 13 Tommy Paul of US in the quarterfinals.
