Spanish discovery: Bronze Age items made from space meta

A Bronze Age treasure chest discovered half a century ago in Alicante, Spain, has revealed a startling truth to scientists.

Known as the Villena Treasures, this prehistoric collection contains items made from extraterrestrial metal. The ancient collection houses 59 gold objects (including 27 bracelets and 11 bowls).

However, the truly exciting discovery was made in the iron pieces. It was understood during the initial examinations in 1963 that these artifacts contained "unusual characteristics."

According to El País, scientists confirmed that a sword hilt and bracelet found were made of extraterrestrial metal.

A new study in the journal Trabajos de Prehistoria revealed that these irons came from a meteorite that hit Earth about a million years ago.

Researchers determined that these unique artifacts were made between 1400 and 1200 BC.

It is believed that these pieces held great symbolic and social value during that period.

PART OF A MAGNIFICENT COLLECTION

According to researcher Ignacio Montero-Ruiz, the relationship between gold and iron suggests that these items belonged not just to an individual but likely to a community's secret treasure.

In this period on the Iberian Peninsula, when kingdoms did not exist, such artifacts were of great importance.

The origins of these treasures and how they were precisely obtained remain unclear.

However, these iron pieces are certainly the earliest and only meteoric iron objects found in the region.

Montero-Ruiz states that these unique findings, along with the gold artifacts, are part of a magnificent collection that holds great value.
