Turkiye's oil imports increase by 3.7%

Turkiye's total oil and oil products imports rose by 3.7% in May compared to the same month last year, reaching 4,423,682 tons. The most significant imports of crude oil and petroleum products came from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Iraq.

The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) released its "Oil Market Sector Report" for May.

According to the report, crude oil imports, which constitute the largest portion of Turkiye's total oil imports, increased by 16.2% to 2,860,972 tons.

During this period, diesel fuel imports decreased by 7.3% to 1,194,728 tons.

The remaining imports included aviation and marine fuels, gasoline, fuel oil types, and other products.

Thus, total imports in May increased by 3.7% compared to the same month last year, reaching 4,423,682 tons.

Petroleum Product Sales Decreased

The highest imports of crude oil and petroleum products were from Russia, with 1,701,767 tons, followed by Kazakhstan with 347,490 tons and Iraq with 264,211 tons.

On the other hand, domestic gasoline sales in May increased by 5.2% compared to the same month last year, reaching 383,007 tons, while diesel sales decreased by 9.8% to 2,202,969 tons.

Total petroleum product sales decreased by 7.6% to 2,737,090 tons.

Petroleum Products Exports Increased by 56%

Turkiye's aviation fuel exports in May decreased by 3.4% compared to the same month last year, reaching 402,199 tons, while marine fuel exports increased by 157.6% to 210,891 tons.

Gasoline exports decreased by 62.4% to 17,928 tons, and diesel exports increased by 7.9% to 344,619 tons.

Overall, total exports in the oil market increased by 56.5% to 1,553,698 tons.

Diesel production in May increased by 1.2% compared to the same month last year, reaching 1,302,362 tons.

Gasoline production increased by 12.1% to 419,739 tons, aviation fuel production decreased by 5.1% to 445,279 tons, and marine fuel production increased by 38.4% to 169,734 tons.

Total refinery production of petroleum products increased by approximately 17.3%, reaching 3,297,258 tons.
