Turkiye's budget surplus after six months

In May, Turkey's central government budget surplus of 219.409 billion lira for the month, marking the first surplus since November. However, for the January-May period, the budget recorded a deficit of 471.903 billion lira.

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced the budget implementation results for May.

In May, Turkey's central government budget revenues were 1.007 trillion lira, while expenditures were 787.728 billion lira. This resulted in a budget surplus of 219.409 billion lira for the month, marking the first surplus since November. However, for the January-May period, the budget recorded a deficit of 471.903 billion lira.

According to the announcement, budget revenues in May increased by 83.3% compared to the same month last year, reaching 1.007 trillion lira. Budget expenditures also rose by 83%, totaling 787.728 billion lira.

For the January-May period, budget revenues surged by 101% year-on-year to 3.240 trillion lira. Meanwhile, budget expenditures for the same period increased by 97.9%, reaching 3.712 trillion lira.
