Turkish stock exchange rises 1.24% at opening

Turkey's benchmark stock index kicked off Thursday with a significant rise, opening at 7,622.69 points.

This marked a 1.24% increase, adding 93.38 points from the previous close. The Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index had closed at 7,529.31 points midweek, experiencing a 2.83% decline, amid a trading volume of 82 billion liras ($2.82 billion).

In the currency market, the US dollar to Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 29.0430 by 10:28 a.m. local time (0728GMT). Concurrently, the euro was trading against the lira at 31.7150, and the British pound was valued at 36.6850 Turkish liras.

In commodities, Brent crude oil was trading at approximately $74.75 per barrel early Thursday. Meanwhile, gold prices hovered, with an ounce priced at $2,046.65.
