cumhuriyet.com.trThe FATF, which determines the compliance of the world's economies with the fight against financial crimes, had placed Turkiye on the so-called gray list in 2021 for falling behind in the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing.
Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek stated that Turkiye has reached the final stage in the process of Turkiye's exit from the gray list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) General Assembly will take place in Singapore on June 26-28. According to Reuters, Şimşek will travel to Singapore to attend the meeting.
The economic administration said it expects Turkiye to be removed from the gray list by the end of the month and that any other decision would be political.
A FATF delegation visited Turkiye last month to assess Turkiye's anti-money laundering and illicit financing practices.
