Russia extends gasoline export restrictions until year-end

The Russian government has extended restrictions on gasoline exports until the end of the year, according to a written statement released by the authorities.

The statement noted a seasonal increase in domestic gasoline demand and reported that planned maintenance activities are underway at some refineries. To maintain balance in the domestic market, the restrictions on gasoline exports have been extended until December 31.

However, the statement emphasized that gasoline exports under agreements with foreign governments will be exempt from these restrictions.

Russia has seen gasoline prices rise due to drone attacks targeting oil refineries and increased demand, particularly in the agricultural sector.

In response to these price hikes, the government has occasionally imposed export restrictions.
