Apple may not roll out some of its new key features to users in the EU this year due to the bloc’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) regulations, according to media reports on Friday.

The features are iPhone Mirroring, SharePlay Screen Sharing enhancements and Apple Intelligence.

The DMA, which took effect in November 2022 to ensure higher and fairer competition in Europe, aims to prevent large firms from abusing market power and allowing new companies to enter the digital industry.

Apple announced in January it will allow third-party app stores in Europe for the first time in the company's history. The move will open up the company’s iPhone and iPad App Store in Europe to competitors, a major shift from the firm’s longstanding policy of controlling application distribution on its devices.

The company last week announced Apple Intelligence generative models and unveiled a partnership with OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, as the race for artificial intelligence heats up among major tech companies.
