18 million tourist visit Turkiye since the year starts

According to the data released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 15 million 784 thousand 213 of the visitors to Turkiye were foreigners. According to January-March statistics of citizens residing abroad, 2 million 24 thousand 865 Turkish citizens visited Turkiye. Thus, the total number of visitors reached 17 million 809 thousand 78.

In May 2024, the number of foreign visitors Turkiye country increased by 14 percent compared to the same month of 2023 and reached 5 million 130 thousand 119. In the January-May period, the number of foreign visitors increased by 12.47 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

MOST TOURISTS CAME FROM GERMANY

In May, the Russian Federation ranked first with 739 thousand 17 visitors with an increase of 15.32 percent. Germany sent 729 thousand 505 visitors with an increase of 18.12 percent, while the United Kingdom ranked third with 550 thousand 592 visitors with an increase of 21.62 percent. Bulgaria and Poland followed these countries respectively.

In the first 5 months of this year, Germany ranked first with an increase of 16.20 percent and 1 million 122 thousand 930 visitors. Russian Federation ranked second with 1 million 78 thousand 294 visitors, while Iran ranked third with an increase of 51.78 percent and 946 thousand 437 visitors. Bulgaria and England followed these countries.
